A few of my favourite moments for today

One of our favourite things to do together.

One of my favourite pictures ever!

Set up for the next picture...

Piper's amazing flexibility... this is how she got up to sitting or back down to scooting.

My favourite moments from today so far...
  • When Peyton snuggled up to me in bed this morning as I caught a few moments of sleep after my shift with Piper and before Peyton was off to school. It's a wonder to be loved by a child!
  • When Piper calmed immediately as I leaned in, cheek to cheek, close enough to smell her and for her to smell me.
  • Painting Piper's little toenails pink! I have loved every minute of having a girl!
  • Watching so many of those we love love on our little girl!

  1. Love you, love your family, and LOVE your little girl. Give her a kiss for me.

  2. I have to tell you Kari, the news of little Pipers sudden decline in health has hit me hard. I don't know if one of the reasons could be that that my baby girl and yours are so close in age, but God has really laid your entire family on my heart. There isn't an hour that goes by in my day that I don't pray for you and for her. The last few nights I have not been able to sleep, I just lay in bed praying. I wish there was something more I could do, some way to ease your pain, to help carry the load....but sadly, I can not. But I give you my word that I am on my knees daily praying for you guys! You have inspired me to be a better mother, to truly enjoy every moment(even the bad ones with my kiddos). To count my blessings and never take a day for granted with my children. I have started a journal about my day to day life with my kids, so I never forget the little things(got the idea from you after going back and reading your blog about Drew). I pray God gives you peace and comfort during when you need it most. We love you guys and never stop thinking about you!

    Love Lisa and Jerred Lute

  3. Prayers and much much love from Helena MT. You are an inspiration. Your faith and trust are an amazing example to us all. Love from the Camerons.

  4. Thank-you for your willingness to share your reflections and thoughts during this precious time, Kari. You are reminding me that God always blesses us with a choice on how to proceed and how to view things. I love seeing the pictures of your kids! Piper's big blue eyes melt my heart. We are continuing to pray that you will all feel God holding you close and that you will be filled with His strength and peace.
    Love and hugs,
    Andrea Reid

  5. Hi, my name is Kamara Cox. I heard about your story through a friend of mine who works with your brother. You are heavy on my heart friend, and I am praying for your family. We lost our little girl last November to Turner Syndrome while I was 22 weeks pregnant. I know how hard it is to lose a child. I am praying that God can work miracles in Piper's life, and that you do not go through another loss. I know God is so very present in your life, and he will continue to be throughout this journey. Your kids are precious!

  6. Dear Kari,
my prayers for you and your family have been for the peace that surpasses understanding. I admit that I've also prayed for something miraculous for you all, from our God who can do exceeding abundantly beyond all that we ask. It occurred to me today, while reading through your posts, that the miracle could quite possibly be the love that you've seen, shared, and lived, throughout your family's journey.
I cannot tell you how often I've thought of your example since learning a bit about your sweet Drew a couple of years ago. While there is a lack of fully understanding the road you all have traveled, I do want to express there is not a lack of caring. I will be faithful in prayer for you. (What an amazing amount of love has been wrapped up in all of your children! They are precious. I thought I knew of some adorable blue eyes, but I may stand corrected after seeing your Piper.)

  7. Hi Kari,

I just wanted to let you know that we are still here, always thinking of you and your beautiful family. I was saddened to hear of Piper's illness, and pray for peace and strength for your family during this difficult time.

Reading your posts continue to remind me what a wonderful mother and woman you are; your faith and strength inspire me. Piper could not have been brought into a more loving family; and what a beautiful little girl she is!

I pray for you all and pass you much love and hugs, as I have silently many times over the last few years. You are always in my thoughts, Kari.

    With Love,
    Kerrie Martin

  8. Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with you all.
God bless you all with peace and wisdom.
    Mike and Michelle

  9. Love to you and your family, Kari. You inspire me.

  10. Keegan, Josh and Connolly all prayed this morning for little Piper and big brother Peyton. (And Drew too cause they remembered him)! As we did for all the family. We would love to come and visit you in the hospice, but understand this precious time spent with your little Piper is much more important. God Bless you in ALL this! Love Stephen & Aisling.
